Aftercare

Colouring Aftercare

For all colour services including Vivid/Pastel Colouring, we advise the following for the longevity and overall health of your hair:

  • Wash your hair 72 hours after colouring, otherwise, the colour will wash off easily.
  • Use colour-protectant, sulphate-free shampoo & conditioners.
  • Wash your hair less regularly or use dry shampoo.
  • Use conditioner after every time you shampoo your coloured-treated hair.
  • Shampoo the scalp area only and let the shampoo rinse through the rest of your hair.
  • Avoid long showers or humidity as damp air makes hair colour fade. Use a shower cap.
  • Opt for cool or lukewarm showers as hot water can damage and fade colour-treated hair.
  • Prolonged exposure to chlorinated water or well water will shorten the colour cycle.
  • Use the Brazilian Bond Build3r Colour Range for long-lasting results.

For services such as all highlights, all bleaches, balayage & colour melt please only use our recommended products or any decent silver shampoo (available at any major retailer/online).

For all other hair colouring aftercare, please use products from the Brazilian Bond Build3r Colour Care Range.

Treatment Aftercare

To prolong the reparative and protective benefits as hair is washed and styled in between hair treatments please follow this advice:

  • Wash your hair 72 hours after treatment, the effects fade away the more you wash your hair.
  • Use Keratin shampoos which helps seal in the shine and silky texture of your hair.
  • Use sulphate-free shampoo & conditioners.
  • Avoid prolonged UV/Sun rays exposure – wear a hat for long periods at the beach.
  • Use a silk pillow to prevent as much frizz build-up overnight.
  • Prolonged exposure to chlorinated water or well water will shorten the treatment cycle.
  • Use the Brazilian Brazilian Blowout Range as they reactivate the treatment within your hair.
  • Most hairspray, oil, and serum are allowed, avoid overuse.

For all other hair treatment services, please use products from the Brazilian Blowout Range.

Hair Extensions Aftercare

The lifespan of hair extensions can vary and we do not guarantee a certain lifespan on any hair extensions. Following the correct aftercare advice as well as using the correct specialised products will increase the life of your human hair extensions. It is a well-known fact that lighter shades can have a shorter lifespan due to higher amounts of chemical processing. Please ensure you do the following for long-lasting hair extensions:

  • Do not colour your hair extensions – Do not use chemicals or hair dyes.
  • Do not use any toners/silver shampoos.
  • Only let a professional cut/colour/treat/apply your extensions.
  • Strictly avoid saltwater including swimming pools and the sea.
  • Avoid prolonged UV/Sun rays exposure – wear a hat for long periods at the beach.
  • Avoid washing your hair more than twice per week.
  • Sleep with your hair tied loosely and do not wear tight hairstyles more than twice per week.
  • Only use specialised soft bristle hair extension brushes.
  • Do not brush whilst wet, partially dry before brushing.
  • Do not leave your hair to dry naturally, blowdry instead.
  • Do not use excessive heat or high temperatures on the top of the latex weft area. Always blow dry on medium-cool settings and always use heat protection.
  • Do not use conditioners, oil or masks on the root area.
  • Only use sulphate-free products.
  • Tape & Keratin Fusion Bond Extensions – Do not use products which contain oil and alcohol.

Hair extensions require regular maintenance. Missed or late maintenance appointments can cause hair loss, tangling and damage to the natural hair. Please discuss maintenance schedules with your stylist and book them in advance.

For all other hair extensions maintenance, please use products from the Brazilian Bondbuild3r Extension Range

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)

Straight after each treatment session, you want to keep your scalp dry for up to 4 days. You may experience a bit of redness and an itchy scalp. This is totally normal and it will subside after a few days. Also if you want to you can wear a hat during this process. Just make sure it’s something soft, loose and comfortable so it’s not going to irritate your skin while it is healing.

As the pigment heals under the skin, little tiny scabs may form. After two days you can start to moisturise again. This will really help the healing process.

Avoid excessive sweating. Stay away from any saunas, steam rooms, or things that may cause excessive sweating. We recommend 4 days but this can be flexible depending on how you feel. You may continue with the gym and exercise if you can refrain from excessive sweating. If you do overly sweat, then just get a paper towel and then just blot away the sweat and that should dry out nicely.

Showering, washing and getting water on your scalp. After four or five days give your scalp a good wash with warm soapy water. Avoid any strong chemicals such as anti-dandruff shampoos or any hair growth products just for a few days. You may start to use these types of products again 10 days after each procedure.

You may drink alcohol and take any medications that you need straight after the treatment.

You can cut your hair again after day five with clippers or shavers, whichever is your preferred choice. Just be gentle on the scalp until after the day 10 period.
